“Savanna Wegman's set dominates breathtakingly...
It is visually stunning”
- What Did She Think?
“the set is crafted with such intricate detail that it transports the audience directly into the heart of Wangaratta and the characters’ intertwined lives. Every element on stage, from the nostalgic childhood artefacts to the evocative lighting that shifts with the passing years, is meticulously designed to enhance the storytelling.”
“not to be missed… emotional depth combined with exceptional performances and the stunning set design makes the last train to madeline a truly unforgettable experience” - The Theatre.au

“Savanna Wegman’s brilliant, ethereal set, a concrete railway overpass swallowed in vines, mimics ancient ruins, a metaphor for the lost friendship” - Melbourne Observer
“imaginatively designed” -

“a gorgeous set design that includes train tracks by Savanna Wegman ... it smelt like nostalgia, an abandoned yet magical special spot where two youngsters would meet - a romantic hideaway teenagers could escape to, and one that becomes a perfect setting to recall memories of the past.”

“absolutely stunn[ing].. one of the most enchanting set designs I’ve seen in Indie theatre and certainly one of the best uses of the space I’ve seen. Rising star Savanna Wegman, already Green room nominated, and I hope many are in her future, design is a dreamy evocation of a concrete train station that finds the unexpected beauty in something banal and often ugly. It’s a space that allows for some deft staging from director Hayden Tonazzi that’s both playful and often poignant” - Theatre matters Darby Turnbull
The set was “immidiately striking” - What the show

“The black box at Meat Market has been transformed beautifully into Wangaratta’s lush bushlands by designer Savanna Wegman. Truly, I have never seen the space used better, and director Hayden Tonazzi makes the most of it with creative blocking that uses the set’s height and structure perfectly”
